Belief Statements
At Rolesville High School there are a set of core ideas that make up the foundation our our program:
- We believe in hard work. Greatness hurts and requires pushing your body to an achievement few have dared accomplish.
- We believe in commitment and personal accountability. Being a great athlete is an 11 month a year commitment, with two strategic breaks. An athlete must decide to embrace and love the process of becoming the best they can be, taking ownership and responsibility for attending and completing workouts - both with the team and on their own.
- We believe in creating a culture of positivity and family. We build each other up, focusing on what is positive about each member of the team and about celebrating each individuals growth. We seek to know and be known, building relationships that can last a lifetime.
- We believe in speed & strength. An athlete must train fast, build strength (and do each wisely) to be fast.
- We believe in steady progression. Growth takes times, patience and an intentional training plan founded in the best science available.
- We believe success requires living a championship lifestyle: eating, sleeping, studying, breathing, training, and recovering like champions. Championship living is practiced every moment of every day.
- We believe that everyone can improve as an athlete to become a better athlete then they first thought possible. We believe this growth happens when an individual works hard to find the end of themselves and takes the next step. If we have a team of individual athletes who are working hard to become they best they can be we will have success as a team.
- We believe that training and growth is personal. Training should be personalized to each athlete with the aim of making each athlete the best they can become. Personal progress is best measured from year to year.
- We believe competition is about more then racing. We believe that racing is not about winning but about testing the limits of the human heart and celebrating its achievements.
